Wires X node.

I brought my FTM-400 into the house to set up a temporary Wires X digital node in order to learn more about how to use them. I'd like to leave it up permanently, but as I travel a lot, I'll probably reinstall it in the pickup in a week or two. However, if you would like to try out your Yaesu Fusion capable equipment, feel free to access the system. Also, please advise me if there is something I'm missing or doing wrong. After consulting the Texas repeater coordinators, who said that they do not coordinate any systems using simplex mode, I settled on 433.725 as the operating frequency and so far have not received any complaints. It seems to me that Wires X is kind of a seat of the pants mode and is just begging for some coordination. I have the FTM set for low power, so you will probably need to be within a few miles of the I-35E/I-35W split to access the system. I thought that to be as inoffensive on the air as possible, UHF with a digital squelch and low power was about as safe as I was going to get. As I write this, G6JIE and KJ4VO are having a crystal-clear QSO both using FT1's.

The particulars are as follows;

Frequency: 433.725
Squelch: DCS 023

Wires X Node: 11373
Wires X room: 21377

Awesome! If you want to experiment with it on the 525 repeater, shoot me an email.

Generally speaking, we just need a way to knock it down if something goes awry.
